How Much Does The State of Florida Test Cost?
The State of Florida Exam... cost depends on if you have lived in Florida for 5 years or more.

3. Make Application to The State of Florida for the T3 CNA Test Challenge Exam For Florida Residents of 5 Yrs or more the fee is $134.00
Out of State Resident the fee is $154.00

4. Pass The CNA Exam. It takes about 3 to 4 weeks to get a test date

Am I required to attend a training program in college or other formal

school or may I simply challenge the exam?

Completion of a state approved training program (4 months) is not mandatory.

You must be able to perform the 19 Clinical Skills and Pass The Written Test.

You may "challenge" the exam.

What is a certified nursing assistant?

Certified nursing assistants (CNA's), are known as nursing aides, home health care aide, orderlies, patient care technicians. CNA's provide assistant to patients in Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Doctor's Offices or at a patients home and work under the supervision of a nurse or doctor.

What is the Salary Range for CNA Work?

The local CNA Salary range in the Tampa Bay area varies from $11.00 to $25.00 per hour according to the facility type you work at. The Highest paying positions are in Home Health Care and also require that you work a flexible schedule and own you're own care.

One of the many advantages of working in larger organizations like Hospitals and Nursing homes today is because of the CNA Shortage, you can work as much over time as you wish. Facilities and Hospitals are open 24 hours a day, so the added flexibility of your work schedule makes it easier for working mom's and dad's and students to chose a schedule just right fro them.

What kind of work do CNA's do?

As a certified nursing assistant you might work in a hospital, a clinic, a physician's office, or a patient's home. You would assist patients with the Activities of Daily Living and the daily tasks monitor vital signs( BP, Pulse, Respiration, Temp) and report any variations to a registered nurse, and prepare patients for examination.

Where do CNAs work?

CNAs can find work in community hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, mental health facilities, assisted living facilities (ALF), and private homes.

What kind of training is required to become a Certified Nurse Assistant?

A CNA is required to pass a written state exam and perform 19 different types of clinical task.

How do I get started in my nurse assisting career?

State of Florida Certification Requirements

1. Candidates, both first-time and re-certifying, must pass the Experior CNA Exam which is a 2 part examination, consisting of a written and a performance (skills) section.

2. The Written Test is a two-hour test with fifty (50) multiple-choice questions written in English. An Oral or Spanish Test may be requested for the Written Test if you have difficulty reading English and you must ask for it when you submit your application.

3. The Manual Skills Evaluation requires the applicant to perform three (3) randomly selected nursing assistant skills from the 19 skills studied.

4. You must learn how to perform the 19 skills required You must have a high school diploma or its equivalent if under 18, OR be 18 years of age or older.

5. Nursing assistants certified out-of-state wishing to transfer their certification to Florida may apply for reciprocity. Please see the Florida Reciprocity and Certification Section, which includes the application materials.
